TRUE or FALSE - Answer Key

- FALSE - Dogs have an incredible ability to communicate with humans using a variety of signals. The two main ways dogs communicate with us are through their body language and by vocalizing.

- TRUE - Whenever you are interacting with your dog, you are training. They are always learning from us, and sometimes this is done unintentionally. If you feed your dog at the dinner table, it is possible you trained your dog to ask for food at the table.

- TRUE - Training your dog isn’t just about obedience—it’s about building a relationship based on trust, communication, and mutual respect. Relationship-based dog training is a compassionate approach that prioritizes your bond with your dog while encouraging good behavior.  This training style focuses on understanding your dog’s needs, emotions, and motivations.

- FALSE - Socialization is one of the most crucial aspects of raising a well-adjusted, confident, and friendly dog. It involves exposing your dog to a variety of people, animals, environments, and experiences in a positive and controlled way. Proper socialization helps prevent fear, anxiety, and aggression, making for a happier and more adaptable companion. While it's easier to socialize puppies, adult and senior dogs can still learn. Socialization is an ongoing process that requires patience and consistency. Whether you have a young puppy or an adult dog, taking the time to expose them to the world in a positive way without overwhelming them will help them become a confident and well-mannered canine companion.
