Chobani's Favorite Toy, Elevated

Writer: CCCCCC

I recently made this toy for Chobani, and he loves it. Maybe you and your canine companion will, too. Tie a long string, shoelace, or something similar around your dog's favorite toy. This now becomes a toy you can toss and move around, similar to a flirt pole but for inside the home. This toy can be great if you have a dog that has not learned to fetch or retrieve and likes to chase toys. It can be a fun and interactive game you play on cold days, though you should consider playing on a non-slip surface. Check out the video below to see this in action!

We recommend that our clients video their dogs in their absence to reveal if there are any anxious behaviors when they are home alone. Unfortunately, it is very common for our canines to be anxious when home alone. A common obstacle to doing this is that some people don't have an extra device to do this with. One solution is the Poudre Library. They have devices that residents can borrow such as a webcam, a GoPro, or even a laptop to set up a video recording station to get footage of your pup at home, hopefully relaxing or watching "TV" out a window like our Chobani so often does. For more information on our Home Alone Program go to our page here. While we hope you do not need help with this, rest assured that if you do, we can help your dog become comfortable being home alone.
