Words of Woofdom: Looking for that Perfect Gift for a Dog Lover?
Need a last-minute gift for a dog lover? Here are a few ideas…
Here are a few books on our shelf that we recommend: The Other End of the Leash by Patricia McConnell and Jean Donaldson’s Culture Clash. Both of these books are educational, classic and easy to read. Inside of a Dog by Alexander Horowitz gives you some insight into what canines may see, hear, and think. If you think fiction would be a better fit, The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein tells a touching story from the dog’s perspective.
Food puzzle toys are wonderful as they dispense food and stimulate your canine’s mind at the same time. One example is a Kong (classic). This toy in my opinion is a house hold necessity. I always have a stuffed one in the freezer, ready to go. There are a variety of food puzzles on the market depending on your dog and what she likes to do. Kong Wobbler, PetSafe Busy Buddy toys, Omega Paws Tricky Treat Balls and Nina Ottossons are just a few of the options out there. Tuffy Dog Toys are soft but durable toys that even contain a squeak!
Make a donation to your favorite pet charity in your friend or families name, such Pets Forever at http://www.loveanimals.org/support-pets-forever.html. This gives a gift to your loved one and a furry pet in need.
Of course a Gift Certificates for Canine Behavior training is an excellent option. Give the gift of a polite dog as well as strengthen that human animal bond.
