Is your dog reactive on leash?
Is it embarrassing to take your canine companion out on a walk due to her being reactive on leash? Does she bark and lunge at other dogs, skateboards, bicycles, people, or other things? Believe it or not this is really not hard to change. In a few sessions you can enjoy walks with your canine companion. For now, we recommend that you avoid your dog’s triggers. Go in another direction if you anticipate an unsuccessful situation. We don’t want your dog to practice a behavior we want to eliminate. Try and keep that leash loose while keeping you and your dog safe.
Dogs can get frustrated on leash because we restrain the way they may normally behave. Think about it this way… if you were at a party and I held you back from speaking to your best friend, you may not be happy with me. You would let me know it by barking some not very nice words at me. With dogs, is a usually bit more complicated than this but the idea is the same. We would be happy to work with you on this. We can schedule a time to meet you at your home the park or another location to work through your dogs reactivity on leash.
With some directed effort, you can go from a dog that is wild on leash to one that even a 4 year old can walk.
