Here are a few tips for if you are having company this holiday season:
- On the day of your gathering, exercise your canine(s) more than usual a few hours prior to your guests arrival. Get them tired and they will be much calmer.
- Have a stuffed frozen Kong stashed in the freezer. This will provide your canine with dinner and about 20 minutes of mental stimulation.
- Most important of all, practice door behavior, NOW. It is never too early or too late to start practicing door behavior. Get them used to people knocking on the door or ringing the doorbell. Repetition brings desensitization.
